Story: 4Illustrations: 4Read aloud: 4A creative, relatable story that illustrates how feeling worried can affect all aspects of our lives。 Talking about worries really is helpful, and for lots of children this could be a helpful strategy。 However, for a child struggling with anxiety, I felt that the message is over-simplified。

Ruby's worry introduces the idea of taking about worries, to make them shrink。 This is an especially useful message to teach to children in the current climate。 Ruby notices that, like herself, another child is accompanied by a "worry" (in this case, represented by a scribbly cloud) and decides to talk to him about it。 I only wish that the book introduced the suggestion of taking to a grown-up, too。On the whole, a fantastic (COVID appropriate) book for EYFS and Key Stage One pupils。 Ruby's worry introduces the idea of taking about worries, to make them shrink。 This is an especially useful message to teach to children in the current climate。 Ruby notices that, like herself, another child is accompanied by a "worry" (in this case, represented by a scribbly cloud) and decides to talk to him about it。 I only wish that the book introduced the suggestion of taking to a grown-up, too。On the whole, a fantastic (COVID appropriate) book for EYFS and Key Stage One pupils。 。。。more

While I’m thinking about picture books, there’s one more I have to give a 5-star rating to here on my personal account: Ruby Finds a Worry。 This book made me cry! It is so well done and the illustrations are adorable。 But the best part is the sentiment about worrying and how our worries are alleviated by speaking them out loud, especially to people who care about us。 As an adult, this message resonated loudly with me, and it made me hope it has the same impact on children who read it。 It’s also While I’m thinking about picture books, there’s one more I have to give a 5-star rating to here on my personal account: Ruby Finds a Worry。 This book made me cry! This book is incredibly endearing。 Ruby gets worried and she finds solutions on how to get rid of her worries。 Really brings to life how to handle an emotion like worry。 In a sweet story, the reader gets good advice on how to handle feeling worried。 Reassuring and relatable。 This is a book I would recommend reading to children。

If I'm worried about something it would never appear the way it does in the book。 It's just fiction, I think。 If I'm worried about something it would never appear the way it does in the book。 It's just fiction, I think。 。。。more

One of the best books I've read about emotions and specifically, anxiety。 This book could even help many adults。 The solution is a little bit haste in my opinion but overall an excellent book。 My hope is that everyone will have someone who will listen to them like the kids had in this book。 One of the best books I've read about emotions and specifically, anxiety。 This book could even help many adults。 The solution is a little bit haste in my opinion but overall an excellent book。 My hope is that everyone will have someone who will listen to them like the kids had in this book。 。。。more

OMG I LOVE THIS BOOK!! What a great way to talk about your feelings than to see worry manifested in this unique way。 Great book to have now to use as a way to discuss how kids are feeling as we all get through this pandemic。

This relatable and simple picture book is refreshing reading for kids and parents dealing with uncertainty and anxiety。 One day a worry popped into Ruby’s life。 Small at first, she paid it little mind。 No one else could see the worry, so no big deal--right? This is a book about Ruby and the small worry she had that made her feel sad worried and scared。 A good book to read to students about feelings and talking to someone about it is a good way to get rid of worries that are bugging you。

This book is so great for opening up and introducing mental health to younger children。 This can especially help children who have anxiety, i think this book could really help them relate and reassure them that they're not alone and how they feel can actually be pretty common。 I think this book could also act as a comfort agent for children with anxiety and could possibly help them calm down and feel more comfortable in their surroundings。 Plus the images are so adorable help make the whole book This book is so great for opening up and introducing mental health to younger children。 This can especially help children who have anxiety, i think this book could really help them relate and reassure them that they're not alone and how they feel can actually be pretty common。 I think this book could also act as a comfort agent for children with anxiety and could possibly help them calm down and feel more comfortable in their surroundings。 Plus the images are so adorable help make the whole book。 。。。more

A sweet story about how our worries get so big that they can stop us from doing the things we want to do。 Ruby learns that talking with other people about our worries can help everyone feel better。 It also helps to know you aren’t alone: everyone has worries! Of course, some of us have more worries than others。 This book will help families with anxious children。
